Ahead of the
K 2025 trade fair in Düsseldorf, Germany, Clariant (Muttenz, Switzerland;
www.clariant.com) has introduced its AddWorks PPA range a set of polymer processing aids (PPAs) developed specifically for polyolefin extrusion. The company said that the launch addresses growing regulatory and market pressure to eliminate PFAS substances from plastic additives, particularly in food packaging applications.
The new products AddWorks PPA 101 FG and AddWorks PPA 122 G are PFAS-free alternatives to conventional fluoropolymer-based aids. According to Clariant, the additives are designed to meet regulatory requirements and support processing efficiency.

In addition, the additives align with recyclability requirements under the forthcoming EU
Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
Clariant said users can expect enhanced extrusion efficiency and improved film surface properties without negative impacts on sealability or mechanical behaviour. AddWorks PPA 101 FG is supplied as a 100% active fine grain suitable for incorporation via host resin or masterbatch, while AddWorks PPA 122 G is available as a pre-formulated masterbatch for ease of use.
