For more than 60 years weve been making the biaxially oriented polyester film HOSTAPHAN®. Its fields of application range from high tech industrial uses, such as carbon composites or medical/pharmaceutical products, to packaging film for food. With modern co-extrusion technology we are able to manufacture a great variety of different film types. Our product portfolio ranges from glass clear to opaque films, coloured films and films with greatly differing surface properties in a thickness spectrum from 4 to 500 µm. By combining co-extrusion with our coating technology, a great variety of products is possible. Our boPET films are used around the globe.

HOSTAPHAN® polyester films for separating and release applications
Release films serve as carrier materials in the manufacture of materials such as glass fibre reinforced sheets (GFK). The carrier is removed after processing. The surface structure of the film is transferred to the surface of the final product, defining its appearance. The film surface can be adjusted to be glossy or also matte. The film can be provided in widths up to 4.20 metres and, depending on the process, may be usable more than once. HOSTAPHAN® polyester films for carbon composites (prepreg)
Carbon composites are carbon fibres embedded in cured reactive resins, mainly epoxies. Their precursor products are prepregs (preimpregnated fibres). Their combination of light weight with high strength makes them ideal for use in aircraft and automotive construction or for sports equipment. Before their processing, uncured prepregs are supplied as a web-shaped material. HOSTAPHAN® serves as a carrier for the reaction mass in the manufacture and processing of prepregs. The resin cures under heat and pressure, forming the carbon composite. The carrier must be easy to remove, sometimes only after the curing process.
