saperatec offers a completely new way to separate composite materials and thus to recover clean and valuable secondary raw materials. We herewith close the materials cycle and simultaneously generate a significant added value in the conversion of waste to valuable materials.
saperatec develops highly specialized separation liquids based on chemical mixtures for different applications. The separation liquid channels its way between the layers of the composite material, where its full effect unfolds, resulting in the separation of the composite.
Currently, we are in the engineering phase for the construction and the operation of the first recycling plant for flexible composite packaging. The system is based on the saperatec technology as a core component and part of an holistic recycling management, consisting of waste disposal, recycling and subsequent sale of the recycled materials.
Also, for customers intending to operate their own systems for the recycling of composite materials, we carry out tailor-made basic engineering for customized systems on the basis of our innovative technology platform.
The technology is developed in in-house laboratories and in a versatile pilot plant, which illustrates the entire technical process on an industrial scale and demonstrates solutions for client-specific separation tasks.

saperatec has launched a project to build and operate the world's first recycling plant of its kind for the processing of composite flexible packaging waste as an integrative approach “from one provider”. Flexible multilayer wastes, which came from the packaging industry and consisting of the materials PET/Al/PE, PET/Al, Al/PE, PE/Al/PE will be treated in the facility.
We take care of the entire value chain, from acceptance of waste and recycling to the distribution of the reclaimed materials. The first plant will have a capacity of app. 17,000 t/a input of post-production composite packaging films and an output of around 16,000 t/a of high quality secondary raw materials. The output consists of nearly 10,000 t/a RE-LD-PE granules, 3,400 t/a Al-briquettes and 2,600 t/a RE-PET agglomerate.
The recycling plant will represent a significant step towards waste material use, a reduction of waste incineration and CO2 emissions. Start of production is planned for 2020. More than 40 new, highly skilled and sustainable jobs will be created. Additional plants follow in intervals of approximately 18 - 24 months.
