Propylux HS

Propylux HS shapes are Heat-Stabilized materials made from FDA, USP VI approved polypropylene resin. Westlake has completed biocompatibility testing per ISO 10993 parts 5, 10 and 11 on fabricated parts in twelve individual colors documented in MAF2561 filed with the FDA. Its broad chemical resistance, low moisture absorption, hydrolysis resistance, and toughness combined with its regulatory compliance profile, make it ideal for use in medical and life science applications. The extruded bar and sheet are put through a unique heat-stabilizing process, so components machined from Propylux HS exhibit excellent dimensional stability. Suitable sterilization methods include steam autoclaving, EtO gas, and cold sterilization.
The product is fully lot traceable.

Tempalux PEI

Tempalux Polyetherimide (PEI) is an amorphous material offering a combination of useful characteristics, including high dielectric strength, high strength at elevated temperatures (up to 180C for extended periods of time), high modulus, and broad chemical resistance. Tempalux is inherently flame resistant with low smoke emission. The material displays property retention and resistance to environmental stress cracking when exposed to a wide variety of chemicals. 
Available in : 
Medical Grade : The material is FDA, USP VI and ISO-10993 compliant. Its regulatory compliance profile and lot traceability make it ideal for use in medical and life science applications. Sterilization methods include EtO gas, radiation, steam autoclaving, dry heat and cold sterilization. 
Glass Fiber filled grade (compression molded): Glass fiber reinforcement provides Tempalux GF with improved tensile strength, stiffness and improves dimensional stability.

TPX (PMP)

TPX Polymethylpentene (PMP) is a crystalline thermoplastic offering a unique combination of a very low-density value (0.82 g/cc), permeability, heat resistance and releasability (very low surface tension). TPX has outstanding low-dielectric properties which makes it an excellent candidate for high-frequency applications. TPX is an excellent choice for items that require steam sterilization. Available in sheets, rods and films with possible transparent aspect.

Cylux Cyclic Olefin Polymers (COC & COP)

Cylux Cyclic Olefin materials combine glass-like transparency with excellent electrical properties, good resistance to polar solvents, low moisture absorption and low water vapor permeability. Cylux offers a better balance of optical and mechanical properties versus other transparent plastics and is an excellent substitute for glass in optical parts where shatter resistance and dimensional stability are critical, such as lenses. Cylux C meets numerous regulatory standards making it suitable for laboratory, diagnostic, medical and food processing applications. Cylux C can undergo sterilization by gamma radiation and ethylene oxide.

Fluorolux (fluoropolymers - PVDF, ECTFE)

Fluorolux is Westlake Plastics family of fluoropolymers products. These materials offer excellent corrosion and chemical resistance at both ambient and elevated temperatures. 

- Fluorlolux Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) is a material which offers excellent corrosion and chemical resistance at both ambient and elevated temperatures. PVDF is also inherently UV stable, mechanically tough, and abrasion, flame, and smoke resistant. 

- Kynar 740: Westlake’s Kynar 740 stock shapes are made exclusively from Arkema’s Kynar 740 Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) resin. The material is an extremely tough engineering thermoplastic offering excellent corrosion and chemical resistance at both ambient and elevated temperatures.
