Burger & Brown Engineering is excited to announce the release of the new Smartflow® Tracer®VMA Electronic Flowmeter with Automatic Flow Regulation or “AutoReg”. The new AutoReg version of the meter opens and closes the connected flow regulator according to Target Flow Rate or Reynolds Number input by the user.
Automatic flow regulation compensates for changes in injection molding cooling water line pressure that can occur during normal production due to in-line press startup or shutdown. The AutoReg responds quickly to maintain a steady cooling water flow rate essential for consistent molded part quality.
TracerVMA with AutoReg can be connected to data acquisition systems or PLC providing manufacturers with real-time statistical process temperature and flow data. The TracerVMA with AutoReg is well-suited for use in “lights out” injection molding or where cooling water conditions must be monitored for quality control and process validation.
In addition to the Automatic Regulation features of the unit, the flowmeter provides all the same functions as the existing TracerVM with User Interface:
- Temperature and flow rate voltage output for connection to PLC
- Temperature and flow rate display
- Volume totalizer
- Reynolds Number Display
- Selectable English or Metric units
- Programmable switch for low or high temperature or FCI (Fluid Characteristic Indication)
- Remotely or locally mounted electronics
- Flow rates from 1 to 15 LPM through 10 to 200 LPM
- Vortex shedding sensor technology
- Up to 120°C operating temperature
TracerVMA with AutoReg is available in sizes 3/8” thru 1” NPT and BSPP. Wetted materials are corrosion resistant brass, nylon, anodized aluminum or stainless steel with EPDM seals. Locally or remotely mounted User Interface provides convenient access to display and programming.
TracerVMA with AutoReg is the latest addition to the Tracer flowmeter line in support of Scientific Cooling℠ principles for plastics injection molders.
