Businesses in the plastic processing and manufacturing sector are looking for innovative technologies and solutions to reduce the environmental footprint of their activities and products. At K 2019, Sulzer will show its commitment to sustainable manufacturing and recycling of plastic with its wide range of technologies. These not only make polymer production more efficient, but also back the development of green plastic materials as well as give a new life to materials that are currently non-recyclable.
Visitors of the stand F71, Hall 16 will be invited to have a virtual reality (VR) tour around real-world chemical processing plants that use Sulzers products without leaving the fair.
Futerro, Sulzer and TechnipFMC team up to simplify the manufacture of bioplastics. Three major process technology and equipment specialists, Futerro, Sulzer and TechnipFMC, have formed the PLAnet™ initiative in equal partnership to promote the production of sustainable plastics made of Poly-Lactic Acid (PLA). The strategic collaboration will support manufacturers interested in entering the bioplastic market by delivering integrated PLA technology packages.
Sulzer will showcase its advanced devolatilization (“DEVO”) technology for solvent-based recycling of plastic and selective polymer extraction at the K 2019 trade fair. The system delivers high-quality materials of unprecedented purity, offering clear benefits when compared to conventional purification equipment. The technology also allows processing industries to identify recovery methods for waste that is currently not recyclable, supporting a circular economy for plastics.
