ICL Industrial Products (ICL-IP) is the industrial chemicals segment of the ICL Group. The ICL Group is a leading specialty minerals company fulfilling essential needs in Agriculture, Food and Engineered Materials with a turnover of appr. US$ 6.3 billion and 12.000 employees (2013).
ICL-IP produces and markets bromine and bromine-, magnesia-, and phosphorus-based compounds as well as chlorine-based salts. ICL-IP draws on the vast resources of the Dead Sea and the Negev Desert. The Dead Sea is one of the worlds largest resources of bromine, magnesium and potassium salts, while ICL-IP is mining Phosphates in the Negev Desert.
ICL-IP is a leading global producer of Flame Retardants, based either on phosphorus, bromine, magnesium or nitrogen. Flame Retardants help to prevent the start and/or slow-down the spread of fires in e.g. Electronics, Construction, Automotive and Furniture applications and thereby quietly protect lives.
Phosphorus-based Flame Retardants are widely used in a variety of PolyUrethane applications. ICL-IP produce a wide range of such FRs in facilities in Bitterfeld, Germany and/or Gallipolis Ferry (WV), USA. In both locations also other phosphorus-based chemicals are produced.
