ZapSib - one of the world’s most modern and largest petrochemical facilities

SIBUR is the largest integrated petrochemical company in Russia with global sales of $ 9,1 billion.

SIBUR purchases hydrocarbons and processes them into plastics, rubbers and other high value added products to deliver state-of-the-art technological solutions and improve people’s lives.

The Group sells its petrochemical products on the Russian and international markets in two business segments:

* Olefins & Polyolefins (Polypropylene, Polyethylene, BOPP films, etc.)
* Plastics, Elastomers & Intermediates (a wide range of Synthetic Rubbers for tire industry and non-tire segment as well as Thermoplastic Elastomers (SBS), DOTP, Oxo-Alcohols, Acrylates, Glycols, Styrene, EPS, etc.).

SIBUR’s petrochemicals business utilizes mainly own feedstock, which is produced by the Midstream segment using by-products purchased from oil and gas companies.

More than 26.000 employees working in SIBUR contribute to the success of customers engaged in the chemical, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), automotive, construction, energy and other industries in 80 countries worldwide.

Mechancial completion of ZapSibNeftekhim (ZapSib), one of the world’s most modern and largest petrochemical facilities, will occur in Q2/2019. ZapSib will comprise a cracking unit with a nameplate capacity of 1,5 mtpa of ethylene, and a polyolefin production complex with capacity of 1,5 mtpa of polyethylene (PE) and 0,5 mtpa of polypropylene (PP). The PE plant will add linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) and high density polyethylene (HDPE) units to SIBUR’s existing low density polyethylene (LDPE) capacity.

About us

Company details

SIBUR is the leader of the Russian petrochemical industry and one of the largest companies globally in this sector. It has more than 26,000 employees. The Company’s unique vertically integrated business model allows it to create highly competitive products consumed in the chemical, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), automotive, construction, energy and other industries in 80 countries worldwide.

The Group sells its petrochemical products on the Russian and international markets in two business segments:

  • Olefins & Polyolefins (polypropylene, polyethylene, BOPP films, etc.)
  • Plastics, Elastomers & Intermediates (synthetic rubbers, EPS, PET, etc.).

SIBUR helps to reduce CO2 emissions stemming from the burning of oil extraction by-products, such as associated petroleum gas (APG), by recycling them instead. In 2018, SIBUR processed 22.3 billion cubic metres of APG thus cutting greenhouse emissions by 72 million tonnes, which is equivalent to the annual CO2 footprint of a middle-sized European country.

In 2018, SIBUR reported revenue of USD 9.1 billion and adjusted EBITDA of USD 3.3 billion.

Polyethylene
SIBUR offers a wide range of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) grades that meet the advanced requirements of leading producers across the application universe. The revamp of production facilities allowed us to expand the range of grades and add products substituting the previously imported grades of major global manufacturers. It also gave us an opportunity to produce film grades of LDPE with additives (antioxidant, processing, slip and anti-block).

Polypropylene
Sibur offers polypropylene of general purpose grade and special polypropylene grades.
General purpose grades that can be used in a variety of processing industries as their properties haven’t been designed to any specific segment.

SIBEX PRODUCT SOLUTIONS
SIBEX is a range of special polypropylene grades tailored to the specific feedstock requirements of each processing segment to improve the physical and mechanical properties of end products. The consistently high quality and innovative composition of solutions designed to meet each processor’s needs will help fully unlock the potential of processing equipment, improve end product quality and cut costs.
