All-Servo Sprue Picker

The all-servo Sepro S5 Picker is a fast-acting, beam-mounted Cartesian sprue picker, based on the design of the economical Sepro Success range of pick-and-place robots.

In its standard configuration, the S5 Picker is fitted with a simple sprue gripper (with control sensor) and an integral unloading chute and guarding so that it operates entirely inside the footprint of an injection molding machine (IMM). Optionally, the S5 Picker can be fitted with an extended (up to 1000 mm) horizontal arm so sprues can be dropped outside the IMM or, with the addition of an R1 wrist rotation and simple end-of-arm tooling, it can be used in basic part-removal applications. The unit, which is sized for use with IMMs between 20 and 200 tons, has a maximum payload (tooling and parts) of 1 kg.

3-Axis Robots

Sepro 3-axis Cartesian robot lineup includes fourteen different models designed for general-purpose pick-and-place and stacking applications, as well as more demanding jobs. The ‘universal’ Success range for IMMs from 20 to 700 tons and the larger Strong range for machines up to 2800 tons offer a competitive solution to everyday molding tasks.  For complex applications, that demand greater speed, precision, and broader capabilities, molders can use  Sepro’s more technically advanced 3-axis robots, which include the Sepro S5 range) for IMMs from 30-800 tons and S7 models for machines sized from 700-5000 tons. These robots can be adapted to special applications (axial, dual-arm, dual-mobile layouts, etc.) and are known for their reliability.

5-Axis Robots

Sepro’s 5-axis robots combine its 3-axis Cartesian platform with a 2-axis Stäubli CNC wrist.  The result is an exceptionally fast and precise robot capable of handling complex in-mold operations, value-added manufacturing steps downstream, and more rapid mold and production changes. The smaller 5X line bring 5-axis capabilities to IMMs up to 800 tons, while the larger 7X line equips machines up to 5000 tons, handling maximum payloads to 100 kgs.

6-Axis Robots

Sepro 6-axis robots also span the range from universal to complex applications.  Sepro Yaskawa 6-axis robots blend performance, configurability, and value to serve IMMs from 20 to 500 tons in demanding automotive and general-purpose applications. Sepro Stäubli polyarticulated robots combine the speed and precision of 6-axis performance with an ISO cleanroom-compatible design suited to premium-quality manufacturing operations.

Collaborative Robots

In partnership with Universal Robots, Sepro now offers the industry’s leading collaborative robots (cobots) with Visual control, guaranteeing seamless integration with other Sepro robots and the molding machine. Molders now can install safe, open configurations for various, including peripheral operations or in advanced automation cells. The new solutions from Sepro and UR ensure shortened process-development times and faster installation, resulting in easy-to-deploy, easy-to-test post-processing operations and turn-key automation systems.

About us

Company details

Sepro was one of the first companies in the world to develop Cartesian beam robots for injection-molding machines, introducing its first CNC controlled “manipulator” in 1981. Today, Sepro Group is one of the largest independent sellers of robots in the world, offering a wider choice of robots than any supplier in the plastics industry. Three-, five-, and six-axis servo robots; special-purpose units; and complete automation systems, are all supported by the Visual control platform developed by Sepro especially for injection molders. This unique controller is a key component in what the company refers to as ‘open integration’ – a collaborative approach to equipment connectivity and interoperability that can be tailored to exactly suit the specific needs processors and injection-molding OEMs. At Sepro, customers “Experience Full Control.”
