Flu Card Assembly & Test – 6,000 PPH – Ten (10) Part Types
Lanco Integrated is a world leader in the design and manufacture of assembly and test systems. As a globally integrated organization, with manufacturing and service locations in North America, Europe, and Asia, Lanco Integrated is Empowering Global Assembly.
Building on its foundation HFL 2002 Pallet Transfer System, Lanco designed and built a multi variant, fully automatic Medical Flu Card assembly line. The card itself comprised of seven (7) components and the system was fed with only one single bulk loading material flow operator required. Running ten (10) part variants, changeover was achieved via HMI control. The line produces 6,000 PPH.
Components are automatically fed to the system through card and reel feeders. The high tolerance of placement to the Base component, combined with inherent part variability required on-the-fly vision feedback to the system for placement adjustment when necessary. Throughput was supported by two (2) up reel feeding, allowing for easy changeover of one reel while the other continues feeding the line and minimizing the need for downtime. High speed servo units combined with vision feedback to command the pick and place units and pallet locations autonomously allow for seamless adjustments.
The final product measured 88 x 64 mm in dimension which allowed Lanco to assemble four (4) cards per each pallet on the line. Many of the card components were made of paper or plastic. Reel feeders supplied both labels and continuous strips of product which were cut to length by the Lanco system and glued. Each component that is placed to the base is inspected via the vision systems. The system is highly flexible and capable of incorporating new product variants. The system has been installed, running and producing quality component for many years.
The medical business segment makes up a significant portion of Lanco Integrateds global business. With its technical capabilities and in-house medical validation team Lanco is ready to support your automation and test needs.
Needle Suture Attachment, Winding and Packaging Machine
Suture kits are no stranger to the medical industry. What makes the Lanco Integrated Needle Suture Attachment, Winding and Packaging machine innovative, is that all tasks, partnered with in-process testing, are neatly packaged into one machine. Lanco has designed a fully automatic assembly system for medical surgical suture kits, with the adaptive flexibility to accommodate variable needle gauges and thread diameters, with vision guided motion ability that improves production capability, and quality control. There are over 25 inspections throughout the process.
Lanco Integrated has engineered a flexible machine that can accommodate any surgical gauge needle or sutures, from USP 1 through 4/0, with a length range of 45 -120 cm, monofilament or braided. The machine automatically accommodates the different types and system settings required with full recipe tooling and data integrated management. Machine guided vision optimizes flexibility around needle selection, handling, crimp alignment and inspection.
The Needle Suture Attachment, Winding and Packaging machine performs suture needle attachment with integrated pull test, and 360° vision inspection of each product to assure joint quality, all while operating at a speed of 900 PPH. The automation around the packaging optimizes the wind with needle control, which enhances the experience for the medical practitioner.
For the final phase of the process, the system allows for privatized labeling with batch and lot # recordings, with database capabilities. Lanco Integrated takes it one step further by partnering with customers to attain GAMP5 and TUV validation.
Lanco Integrated: An engineered approach to the automated manufacturing of medical devices, as well as many other industry products. For over a century, we have known precision. We engineer precision.
Lanco Integrated is proud to offer new production method opportunities for the medical device industry. We are featuring a Dry Powder Inhaler. The system Lanco Integrated designed, assembles and tests a DPI. This breath activated device, aerosolizes a set dose of micronized drug in the solid state on an airstream. It can be used with quick release and long-term control capsules.
