ESA

ENULEC Electrostatic Printing Assist systems are used by many of the world’s leading gravure printers and machine manufacturers of flexible packaging, tobacco packaging, décor and colour print for publication to improve and maintain the highest standards of print quality by creating the conditions for optimum ink transfer and eliminating “missing dots, dot skips”.

They are suitable for use with water based and non metallic solvent based inks when printing on paper, board and plastic film substrates. They are tested and certified to the latest ATEX  safety standards and are characterized by their reliability, their low maintenance design and their user friendliness.

ESA DIRECT CHARGING

The Innovation in ESA impression roller charging and gravure printing. Gravure printing is characterized particularly by its outstanding quality of print which has been further improved by the Enulec ESA Direct Charging – Side Loading system leading to the establishment of new standards.

The maintenance free Direct Charging – Side Loading System, with its (German Gebrauchsmuster) registered design system of fluid transmission, enables best quality print results to be achieved in the gravure process whilst adhering to the highest safety standards. This technology is integrated into the products of worldwide leading machine manufacturers and is offered to gravure printers as a complete turnkey package. The distinctive feature of this fluid transmission system is the simplicity of its current transmission to the ESA style impression roller. Safe and fully controlled charging of the impression roller is ensured, even in the event of significant dirt contamination, and the system lends itself to the use of inexpensive impression rollers and sleeves.

ESA TOP LOADING

Gravure printing is characterized particularly by its outstanding quality of print which has been further improved by the Enulec ESA Top Loading system leading to the establishment of new standards. The main feature of the Special Top Loading system is a virtually maintenance- free, air assisted charge bar, previously unknown in the gravure packaging printing industry.
Compared to the charge bars with open arrays of charging pins used in the past, this new and innovative technology offers the benefit that frequent cleaning is no longer necessary. This is achieved due to a special charge bar construction in which the charging pins are bedded completely into a small tube where they can not be contaminated by particles of ink or dust. Purged by slightly pressurised air a build up of dirt due to ink or substrate dust is prevented. In introducing this innovation, particular attention was paid to overcoming the various weaknesses associated with conventional ESA top loading systems with exposed charging needles, particularly as these relate to safety. Included among such weaknesses is the need for unwanted machine stops which are necessary due to the need for frequent and regular charge bar cleaning.

24 VOLT TECHNOLOGY

Enulec presents LDS-PRO, a new innovative discharge system with 24 V input voltage The intensity of this discharge bar can be automatically adjusted to the respective application, thus allowing for material-optimised discharging. The NEW 24 volt fully automatic static control “LDS-Pro” can be expanded with our intelligent “ENLEC QM control for realtime display of static values with data capture and storage for providing management with static safety information in your printing and converting production process.

EST DISCHARGING SYSTEM

The ENULEC discharging systems are designed to meet highest safety requirements especially in a heavy contaminated environment. With this discharge bar manufactured from heat and shock resistant special glass-fibre reinforced material the pins are addressed to the substrate through a unique pin layout to ensure that the substrate is fully discharged.

This feature enables more efficient discharge of the web and discharge at higher speeds. It was developed for applications where the web has a greater than normal tendency to retain charge, but it is of interest to all users who have particular static charge issues. Due to this special design no sparks can occur even if the discharge bar is contaminated with non conductive ink. The discharge bar is not only safer because the build-up of conductive bridges between the needles can not longer occur.

DISCHARGING SYSTEM

This highly effective DC static elimination system has been available to the market for the last 15 years and removes troublesome static charge in winding, slitting, laminating and blown film processes. Free ions (both positively and negatively charged) are deposited at high speed onto the surface of the substrate during the winding process and the positively charged ions on the surface of the substrate recombine with the predominantly negatively charged ions coming from the discharge bar.

The high performance EST-DC-LDS has an effective range of approximately 20–800 mm (0.79″–31.5”) and does not need to be adjusted to suit the characteristics of differently charged substrates. Using this special DC technology, this static elimination system can be used to remove all combinations of static charge and there is no further need to use AC discharge systems on the machine winder.

About us

Company details

OUR COMPANY IS A LEADING SUPPLIER OF INDUSTRIAL GRADE
ELECTROSTATIC CHARGING/DISCHARGING SYSTEMS.
Founded in 1981 by HUBERTUS and CHRISTA DETTKE Enulec GmbH has grown to occupy a leading market position in the field of electrostatics. Son CHRISTOPH DETTKE was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2006 and has been responsible for the international marketing and sales network. The company offers custom designed solutions to electrostatic related problems. The product range includes highly effective ESA systems (standard top loading, maintenance free top loading, core charging and side loading systems) which have helped customers in the gravure printing industry to achieve high quality print standards along with high productivity and maximum standards of safety. In addition to this, EST electrostatic discharging systems assist customers in the printing and plastics processing industries to successfully eliminate static charges in machines such as winders, slitters and laminating machines, so ensuring smooth and safe production processes. All products intended for use in the potentially explosive zone of the printing process comply with the very latest ATEX requirements. In addition to their headquarters in Trittau near Hamburg/D, the company operates through a number of subsidiaries. Enulec Electrostatic Sagl in Lugano/CH serves to maintain close collaboration with leading Italian manufacturers of gravure presses, whilst Enulec America Sales and Service Center looks after customers in the Americas. Beyond this, a worldwide sales and service network consol.idates the company?s leading market position and ensures its closeness to its customers.
