Servo-Torq® Combination rotary cutters

Our workhorse rotary cutters combined with an integral Accra‐Feed™ caterpillar infeeder/puller fitted with 550 mm long belts.

These are “full‐on” production machines suitable for all medium‐duty cutting applications. Designed for 24/7 production at most linespeeds, these general-purpose machines can handle a wide range of products.

All machines feature a Lenze i700 multi-axis servo control system & Siemens TP700 Comfort colour touch-screen panel (178 mm (7") diagonal).

The fly-knife rotary knife blade is directly driven by an AC servo motor for a clean, square, cut end. As a free-of-charge option we have a belt drive version of the machine available.

The caterpillar infeeder is fitted with twin direct-drive motors as standard for improved infeed accuracy. This includes zero backlash planetary gearboxes.

The heavier‐duty units are capable of cutting tough extruded products such as rigid plastic pipe & profile and Kevlar® reinforced rubber hose. A torque enhancer gearbox can be fitted to the cutter motor to increase the cutting power.

Servo-Torq® Free-standing rotary cutters

A stand‐alone rotary cutter for when you already have a caterpillar infeeder/puller machine.

All machines come with a Siemens 4.3" wide-screen colour touch-screen control panel. Also supplied is an encoder length control system, including a measuring wheel designed to run on the caterpillar belt or directly on the product.

A fibre-optic photo-eye length control system is available as an option. Pre-heater systems can be added to the cutter when handling rigid plastic extrusions.

Cutter power ranges for light‐duty to super‐heavy‐duty. Torque enhancer gearboxes are available to increase the cutting power to over 260 Nm (equivalent to 46 kW).

Servo-Torq® Medi Combination rotary cutters

Precision engineered for cutting medical tubing. A clean-room finish is standard. Very high linespeeds are combined with an ultra-precise cut, ideal for high accuracy applications.

The integral Accra‐Feed™ caterpillar puller belts have been specially designed to ensure optimum feeding of even the smallest tube into the cutting area. Twin direct AC servo motors are used to power the belts. The planetary gearboxes give a zero backlash drive. A slide-away cutter head is standard.

Blade lubrication is also standard. The cutter head is manufactured from clear anodized aluminium. This is resisilant to medical grade blade lubricants, such as Isopropyl Alcohol. A stainless steel cutter head & stainless steel fabrications are available as an option.

Other options available include bubble, taper, bump & cuffed tube functions. PTFE lined air-feed Venturi cutter guide bushes are offered for ultra-small OD tubing.

Servo-Torq® Mini Slider combination rotary cutters

The in-line version of our compact Servo-Torq® Mini rotary cutter.

By adding a slide-away cutter head & floor-standing base, we have made this machine perfect of lighter duty in-line cutting applications.

The slide-away head makes it much easier to thread the machine in-line when you have a constant flow of extrusion passing through the caterpillar belts. The slider option also makes accessing the knife blade & cutter bushes an easy job.

The floor-standing base can be made to match the required line-height & line direction. An optional storage cupboard can be fitted into the base of the cutter.

Despite the small foot-print, this machine can perform. It is particularly recommended for lower speed medical applications. The cutter head is available with a clear anodized finish & the the paintwork can be to medical clean-room standards. A full stainless steel option is available as required.

The infeeder belts are driven by a twin direct-drive motors via planetary motors. This gives optimum speed holding accuracy & performance.

A full colour 7" (178 mm) Siemens TP700 Comfort touch-screen panel is supplied as standard, as is blade lubrication.

The servo drive control system is a Lenze i700 multi-axis unit.

Circular blade cutters & saws

To accompany our range of rotary fly-knife rotary cutters, we also have an extensive selection of circular blade cutting systems for tougher extruded products.

This includes:

Travelling saws for rigid plastic pipe & profile, including angled cutter-head.
These up‐stroke travelling-head circular saws provide at cost effective answer for cutting rigid plastic pipe & profile. The moving carriage is powered by an AC brushless servo motor.
The fully adjustable clamp system guarantees a square cut end, while the optional swarf extraction system keeps the cut end clean. An optional swivel cutter head is available to allow angled cuts ends to be achieved.

Metal-Cut™ circular blade cutters for metal reinforced profiles.
Designed to cut all types of metal reinforcement, including wire, punched or stamped strip & continuous rolled profile. A high speed circular blade slices through the extrusion. The cutter head is driven in & out of the product by a servo ball‐screw assembly.
Two versions of the machine are available; a fixed‐head cutter for flexible extrusions and a moving‐head machine for rigid profiles.

Braid-Cut™ circular blade cutters for stainless steel braided tube & hose.
The advanced Braid-Cut™ MT machine cuts through stainless braided hose cleanly, using an integral welding head to fuse the wire ends together. Elkonite® Tungsten Copper alloy electrode jaws clamp the hose while the toothless circular blade cuts through.
The PTFE or rubber inner hose is left with a perfect cut finish. There is no wire flare or loose ends to worry about. Ferrules or clamping caps can be easily pushed onto the cut ends, with no snagging.
The Braid‐Cut™ MT is fully PLC controlled, with an advance program to ensure total synchronisation between the welding & cutting.
A range of Braid-Cut™ MT cutters are available, with maximum OD capacity sizes of 25 mm &  30 mm.

Servo-Torq® Mini Table-Top Cutter

Our compact Servo-Torq® Mini rotary cutter is aimed at lighter duty cutting applications. Despite the small foot-print, this machine can perform.

Available as a table-top unit for off-line use or as an in-line version complete with a floor-standing base & slide-away cutter head. The machine can also be supplied as part of a complete off‐line cutting cell with sonar loop & pay‐off system.

As of early 2017 the cutter motor power has been upgraded from 1.5 kW to 2.4 kW. This makes this small machine even more versatile.
