About us

Company details

Legal predecessor of Remat Zrt. was founded in 1995 under the name TVK-ReMat Kft., 99% of its shares owned by TVK, to collect and sell the waste that was produced at the company’s land. The utilization of plastic waste started in 1997 and it became the group’s main activity from 1999. As of now, ReMat Zrt has a capacity of nearly 25.000 tons.

The Kft. (Ltd.) became a Joint Stock Company in 2006 and in accordance with its new strategy it intensively increased the utilization of packaging waste, by which it became one of the most significant utilizers in Europe and market leader in Hungary.

As of now, the group is made up of four producing companies:

1) ReMat Hulladékhasznosító Zrt. (ReMat Waste Utilizing Private Limited Company with shares), the parent company (head-quarter in Tiszaújváros, on the territory of Mol Petrolkémia Zrt.), LDPE and PP regranulates are produced here.

2) The Rakamaz manufacturing company unit of the ReMat Hulladékhasznosító Zrt. (ReMat Waste Utilizing Private Limited Company with shares), where LLDPE regranulate is produced.

3) ReMat Slovakia s.r.o. operating in Bratislava on the territory of Slovnaft in a real estate rented from Slovnaf, where primarily logistic activity is carried out.

4) TÁCFOL Kft. in Tác, which creates foil type end-products out of the regranulates produced by the company.

The company group utilizes primarily polyethylene and polypropylene packaging waste with the use of automatic selecting system, and cleaning and regranulating equipments purchased from the world’s leading manufacturers (Steinert, EREMA). In the last few years – together with the widely spreading selective waste collection – the company also utilizes PE collecting and carrying bags resulting from residential collection.

The quality of the recycled materials is laboratory tested; the condition of processing is recorded both on the certificate attached to the product and in our integrated system. ReMat Zrt. inaugurated ISO 9001:2000 Quality Control System in 2006 and Integral Control System (ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004) in March 2007 in the field of processing and disposal of regranulate, which was elevated to group level in 2014.

The activity of the company is closely tied to TVK and Slovnaft SRO and to the plastic waste gathering and plastic managing businesses in the country. This firm connection is further strengthened by mutual economic interests and by the law, which helps the viewpoints of environmental protection prevail in plastic recycling after joining the European Union, and also contributes to the fulfilment of the obligation concerning the utilization of plastic packaging waste undertaken by Hungary towards the European Union.

As for now, ReMat Zrt. is the largest plastic waste utilizing company group in Hungary; its producing units have integrated quality control systems, and participate in the fulfilment of Hungarian waste utilizing in accordance with the regulations of the European Union.
