Isobaric Double Belt Presses of HELD
Since 1975, when the first isobaric Double Belt Press (DBP) was brought to market, HELD is the leading manufacturer of high-performance, isobaric Double Belt Presses worldwide.
Double Belt Presses are the perfect machines for continuous production processes of roll- and sheet material. The first application for these machines in 1975 has been the production of decorative laminate for the furniture industry. Today different kind of materials like flexible copper clad laminate for the electronic industry, organo sheets for the aerospace industry, transportation belts for the food industry, reinforced fiber plastics for the automotive industry etc. are realized on HELD isobaric DBPs.
Two endless steel belts are wrapped around the upper and lower pair of drums, which are located at the entrance and exit of the DBP. Above and beneath these steel belts two press platens are placed, comprising the so called “reaction zone”, where temperature and pressure are applied onto the materials simultaneously. An oil supported pressure cushion generates the isobaric pressure and guarantees stress-free products. Sub-divided temperature zones in the upper and lower steel platen enable to run different temperature profiles as the temperature of each zone can be set individually.
During the production process temperatures of up to 400°C and pressure of up to 80bar can be achieved. Heating and Cooling under maintained pressure prevent evaporation and thus offer top material quality and finishing.
These advantages are offered by HELD machines for production processes of diverse material in different application fields.
