Product category: Driers for bulk materials

Conair's new MicroWheel dryer is the perfect solution for processes that don't need the capacity of a large dryer and hopper, but still need the efficiency and reliablilty of Conair's desiccant wheel drying technology.

As the smallest and most compact dryer of its type on the market today, Conair now offers this perfect option for applications requiring a small and efficient dryer/hopper combination. Designed with the medical industry in mind, this dryer features stainless construction, clean operation, and a compact footprint.

MDCW (15-100)

Mobile Drying Conveying systems eliminate the need for machine-mounted hoppers by placing all components on a safe, convenient cart.
Set-up, batch drying, clean-out and maintenance can all take place without tying up valuable process machine time, or climbing on the machine.
The MDCW system integrates an efficient Carousel Plus Dryer with a conveying blower, dust collector and direct-feed vacuum receiver to convey with dry air to the throat of a processing machine.

The DM-II Drying Monitor option can save you time and money, and from the aggravation of dealing with improperly dried material.
The DM-II automatically monitors the temperature profile inside your drying hopper within a pre-set temperature band to protect you from overdrying or underdrying your material. A warning alarm shown on the control display and light tower alerts you to improper drying conditions. This advanced notice provides time to diagnose and correct otherwise undetected problems that can lead to defects in products. In addition, the DM-II may be used to tune the dryer process temperature to minimize energy consumption.

Conair extends the legacy of the patented Drying Monitor with the introduction of the DM3-i. Drying performance analysis occurs inside the drying hopper providing you with early detection of poor drying conditions and allowing you to correct potential issues before you have processed improperly dried material. With the DM3-i, you will have control of polymer drying, make defect-free parts, save energy and increase your profitability.
Now available as an independent touch panel, the DM3-i model can monitor up to 30 hoppers - even non-Conair hoppers. The DM3 is also available as a dryer option, embedded in the dryer control. Contact Conair for information about the DM3-e.

Who is Conair Today?

Conair is the leading producer of auxiliary equipment for plastics processing in the world. We make and market over 450 different products, including resin-drying systems, blenders, feeders and material-conveying systems, temperature-control equipment and granulators. Extrusion solutions include gravimetric control systems, film and sheet scrap-reclaim systems and downstream equipment for pipe and profile extrusion. Conair is also a leader in plastics process integration, engineering and installing complete manufacturing systems that help plastics processors manage their valuable raw materials, handle their critical manufactured parts, and improve their process yield.

All Processes. All Markets. All Around the World.

Conair is able to offer concrete solutions across the entire spectrum of auxiliary equipment and plastics processes. Whether you are an injection molder, an extruder, blow molder, thermoformer, rotomolder or compounder, Conair has auxiliary equipment solutions for you. If you consider yourself part of an end-market such as packaging, medical, transportation, building and construction, or any other, Conair has specialized expertise to help you. No matter whether you are located in Indiana or India, Frankfurt, Germany, or Frankfurt, Kentucky, Guaymas, Mexico, or Guangzhou, China, or even all of those places, Conair is there to serve you.

Understanding the industries and customers you serve and the regional markets you compete in, we can anticipate your needs. We can

provide you with not only products that do what they were designed to do, but also knowledge and technology that that makes you better at your business. As one of the world’s largest suppliers of auxiliary equipment Conair has unique access to plastics plants across the globe. Our people are in those plants every day helping to solve problems, save energy, cut waste and generally do more with less.

A History of Growth.

Conair was founded in 1956 by small-town entrepreneur John Reib. He was one of the first in the plastics industry to recognize the need to automate the material-handling process and worked on ways to increase yields for injection molders and extruders everywhere.

The company was soon the dominant name in the auxiliary equipment market and remained that way when the company was bought by GWH Holdings Company in 1986. At that time Conair consisted of a plant and headquarters in Franklin, PA – where bulk systems, material handling and conditioning equipment, water equipment, and reclaim systems were manufactured – and the Jetro division in Bay City, MI, which manufactured pelletizers, granulators and robots.

At that time, Conair was also expanding globally by joining forces with Churchill, a manufacturer of liquid temperature-control units in the United Kingdom. Later, Churchill evolved into Conair Europe. To serve the Far East, Conair Pacific was formed in Singapore. More recently, Conair Mexicana was formed to serve Mexico, Central America, and South America.

In the late 1980s, The Conair Group acquired Martin, Inc., a robotics manufacturer, Gatto Machinery, a pipe and profile extrusion-equipment manufacturer, and Wor-Tex, which made granulators. The Company also formed Conair Tempro to manufacture the heat-transfer equipment. Over the next decade, Conair posted record sales volumes and grew over 350% to become the largest and fastest growing supplier of auxiliary equipment in the world.

In 1997, all these separate divisions were at once merged into a single, powerful organization with corporate offices and technical center near Pittsburgh, PA. Service, parts, and post-sale support have been consolidated into a 120,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility in Franklin. This means that the extraordinary talents of Conair employees are merged with the full line of Conair products and services, with unrivaled vision and process knowledge.
