Drum - Coilers

The machine has been specially designed for packing single pole flexible cables into cardboard drums in order to achieve the maximum cable utilization and to ensure maximum cable extraction at high speeds.
The machine can be used both for loading the drums for subsequent sale and for filling any required stand-by drums, as processing intermediates to replace the normal reels.
The cable's source can be a service reel (rewinding) or, if the system is previously adapted, directly from an extruder.

Rubber Hose builders

To complete its wide range of machines to manufacture rubber hoses O.M.A. develops and builds customized benches according to its customers' specifications to manufacture rubber hoses on rotating rigid mandrels for lengths from 20 to 60 metres for hoses from 10 to 250 mm or special lines for hoses with a diameter up to 400 mm.

A special feature of the O.M.A. mandrel benches type BM 40 and BM 60 is the electronic management of all the production processes needed to build the hoses.
Each element of the line is controlled and managed by the latest generation Numerical Control. Each construction is configured by simply calling up previously memorized recipes which are easily programmed into the controller to support the operator for the preparation of the materials needed to build a specific hose.

Mandrel rotation speeds up to 600 RPM combined with a trolley traverse speed up to 60 m/min, the BM 40 and BM 60 mandrel benches represent the industry standard for this category of machinery.
Sophisticated, yet easy to adjust rubber tensioning systems and protection sheet collection combined with metric control of the laying pitch guarantee a constant and uniform laying of the rubber tapes as well as any other material such as fiber tapes, tire-cord, metallic wire, wrap and/or cords for hose corrugation.
Automatic or manual mandrel loading systems are also available for finished hoses. The use of an automated mandrel pole centering system and hydraulically driven auto-centering heads make it possible to lock and tension the mandrels without an operator's presence thus significantly reducing machine downtime.

Steel Wire Spiraling Machines

The new and innovative O.M.A. spiraling line for the highly resistant steel wires of the SPRW series, fit for the production of rubber tubes, thermoplastic material and PTFE represents the best expression of the technological level attained by O.M.A. products.

The high level of technology used, combined with an accurate design and great precision in the production process, have made the spiraling lines of the SPRW series a reference point for the domain, in terms of average production and quality of the final product. This not only permits doubling productivity in relation to conventional lines but also stepping up the performance of the tubes in terms of internal combustion and life.

The range also includes spiraling machines with a SINGLE or MULTIPLE threads.

Using plastic reels type BP60ND allows taking advantage of the large availability of cheap reels in the market but also having at your disposal a big amount of thread in order to minimise stop machine times.

If a single thread is used, the reels can be directly installed on the machines without being wound up.

The lines of the SPRW series are fitted with automatic or semi-automatic chargers in order to meet any specific production requirement and minimise stop machines times. Changing reels using automatic chargers only takes 25 minutes for the 4 or 6 heads.

The innovative and patented system for thread tension control allows accurately setting the tension of the threads as per guidelines, when the machine is either stopped or operating, keeping the set tension from full to empty reel steady, regardless of reel weight, heads rotation speed and environmental conditions.

No manual regulation of the thread tension and/or eventual corrections are needed.

Through the operator's panel, the use of production guidelines and an advanced electronic control system, all data necessary for the right operation of the machine and a quick setting of the heads for new production requirements, are immediately transmitted to the machine, reducing the machine stop times for cycle shifts to the least.

The intermediate sheet application system was specially developed by O.M.A. to guarantee an accurate application of the rubber belts without excessive tension. This ensures a constant deposition of the flawless belts as well as a quick change of the sheets without having to stop the line. It also allows using belts wrapped around reels as well as belts placed in special containers (folded).

Automatic sensors for single or multiple threads break, empty reels, sheet end/break and heads functioning complete the range of accessories, ensuring top productivity in all safety and without the constant operator's presence.

OMA S.r.l. is specialized in the manufacturing of braiding and winding equipment, in particular for the reinforcing of rubber, thermoplastic, teflon and metal bellow hoses, and is also able to supply turnkey plants for the manufacturing of rubber and plastic hose.
We also produce braiding machines for yarn or wire reinforcement and for a great variety of textile products, from small ropes to many kinds of round, tubular or flat braids and medical products.
Our manufacturing lines include also important auxiliary equipment, such as automatic and semiautomatic winding machines, pay-off and take-up units, yarn and wire spiralling machines, wrapping/unwrapping machines and complete lines for rigid or flexible mandrel large bore rubber hoses.


O.M.A. S.r.l. was established in Italy in 1957 as a high quality, mechanical parts manufacturer for the automotive, aeronautics and braiding industry markets; twenty years later OMA converted the production of mechanical parts into the engineering and manufacturing of the current production lines.
