Product Information

Busch has developed its Plastex vacuum systems especially for degassing the screw section during extruding. They suck up the created gasses and vapours in the screw section of the extruder and therefore play an important role in achieving the required product quality. These vacuum systems are dry-compressing: they do not use any operating fluids such as water or oil. The Mink claw vacuum pumps used in the process work in a non-contact manner and are therefore non-wearing and with low maintenance. A flushing device is integrated for cleaning the compression chamber in the vacuum pump. Six sizes of standardised Plastex vacuum systems are available for degassing during the extrusion of PMMA, PA, PE, ABS, HDPE, CDPE, PVC, PP and many other plastics. The Busch engineers in the 'Plastic Competence Centre' see the standardised vacuum systems as basic components with which they can design and configure tailor-made degassing systems to perfectly suit the process conditions at the customer's site. Plastex vacuum systems are delivered ready for connection and consist of a Mink claw vacuum pump, an upstream filter system, an exhaust pulsation damper, a flushing device and a switch and control cabinet. The entire Plastex vacuum system is compactly mounted onto a base frame. Alongside the right choice of vacuum pump, the separation technology in the extruder degassing plays a significant role. sizes available so that the separator technology can also be specifically configured to the extrusion process during the design of a Plastex vacuum system.

Claw Vacuum Pumps and Compressors

Oil- and contact-free operation
Mink claw vacuum pumps have been developed specifically for industrial applications in which constant vacuum, high pumping speed and completely oil-free compression are essential. Mink claw vacuum pumps operate contact-free; neither oil nor operating fluids are required during compression.

Highly efficient
The sophisticated claw technology of Mink claw vacuum pumps permits extremely high efficiency levels to be achieved, reducing energy consumption and increasing performance. These vacuum pumps operate contact-free and require almost no maintenance. In practice, this means 60% lower energy and operating costs compared to conventional vacuum generators.
The same claw technology is also used for Mink compressors. They provide oil-free overpressure at up to 2 bar (g) and volume flows of up to 580m3/h.

Vacuum Booster

Panda and Puma vacuum booster are dry running vacuum pumps that are used together with backing pumps in all rough and fine vacuum applications where large suction volumes are required. Vacuum booster operate completely contact-free and without sealing fluids such as oil or water in the working chamber. Panda vacuum booster are equipped with a by-pass valve.

Thanks to the large number of available sizes, the suction capacity and ultimate pressure can be tailored exactly to the process conditions. The high volumetric efficiency ensures a further increase in the economy of operation.

Safe operation
Tried-and-tested engineering together with a sturdy design enables safe operation. The Panda series‘ integrated by-pass valve allows for operation at any pressure level.
