The GC-jacket seals and clamps – for days, weeks, months and years.
The GC-jacket is, simply stated, a slotted metallic tube, which solidly clamps the
GC-coil coiled tube cartridge to the cylindrical hot runner nozzle at temperatures
up to 550 °C.
The material properties of the GC-jacket, in conjunction with the
thin-walled structure, resolve all issues of conventional clamping
mechanisms easily and efficiently:
))) The GC-jacket presses the heating element solidly onto the nozzle just through
its material-related self-clamping. With its clamping distance, it adapts to the
diameter tolerances of the heating element. Once it is clamped open, the
GC jacket guarantees vibration and shock-proof pressure. All re-clamping thereby
))) The extremely high resistance of the material over time, also including the
temperature (> 10.000 h at 550 °C), guarantees permanently solid pressure of
the GC-coil coil tube cartridge on the nozzle for months and years.
))) The permanent pressure ensures a constant thermal coupling of heating and
the nozzle. This allows maximum heat capacity and heat transfer with consistent
))) Due to the minimal mass of the GC-jacket, compared to copper or brass
embedments, the thermal reactions are very fast for precise temperature
management. Because no heat exchange can occur in the nozzle heating system,
