SABIC Launches New Butadiene-free NORYL™ Resin for Water Applications

SABIC introduces NORYL™ WM300G, a high-performance resin for water management applications. Free from butadiene and BPA, this new material meets future drinking water regulations while offering superior strength, dimensional stability and fatigue performance.

Global chemical company SABIC has launched NORYL™ WM300G, a new specialty resin designed for water management applications. This material helps manufacturers anticipate stricter butadiene regulations in drinking water, while enhancing mechanical performance compared to the previous NORYL™ 713S resin.

"The new NORYL WM300G resin offers a drop-in replacement for the incumbent resin and delivers improved properties, providing a seamless transition to the newest material technology."

Unlike conventional impact-modified resins, NORYL™ WM300G is formulated without butadiene-based additives that can degrade during processing. This avoids potential contamination of drinking water systems.

This makes the material ideal for faucets, valves, shower heads, meters, and other parts in contact with drinking water.

Traditional impact modifiers can release butadiene, a substance of concern in drinking water. SABIC's innovative impact chemistry avoids this risk entirely while delivering high strength and dimensional stability.

The resin is a non-reinforced PPE/PS blend and supports both injection molding and extrusion (e.g., for pipes and profiles).
