EcoCompact® II: Enhanced 2-Meter Stretch Film Line with Maximum Flexibility

The new 2-meter EcoCompact® II from SML offers innovative advancements, combining compact design, cutting-edge technology, and improved flexibility. With up to seven extruders and enhanced winding options, this fully revised stretch film line is designed to meet evolving industry needs at an affordable price.

The EcoCompact® II, an evolution of SML's popular stretch film line, is now available with several new features and an updated design. According to Thomas Rauscher, Product Manager at SML, "The EcoCompact® was a hot seller right from the go. Now, 14 years later, it is time for a total refinement". This updated model builds on the success of the original while maintaining its compact structure and affordability.

SML offers the solution in four configurations, ranging from four to seven extruders, with optional Nanolayer technology for those requiring 5-layer and 7-layer versions. Additionally, the inclusion of SML’s Ø 1,600 mm chill roll unit is now standard, providing users with greater production capability.

Winders are crucial in stretch film production, and the machine offers three versions of the powerful W4000 winder:

• 2-shaft
• 4-shaft
• 8-shaft double turret

The 8-shaft winder is particularly notable for its ability to use 2’’ winding cores for hand rolls, significantly boosting production speed. As Rauscher explains, “The advantage of the 8-shaft winder is the ability to use 2’’ winding cores for hand rolls. Generally, this type of winder is capable of running at very high speeds. This boosts the performance of the EcoCompact® II to the next level.“

One of the standout features of the EcoCompact® II is its Cloeren Reflex die, which comes as standard for ultra-fast, hands-free die lip control. This technology can also be upgraded with an automatic die mapping system, ensuring precision and efficiency in production.

Beyond the core innovations, the EcoCompact® II also includes features like cut resistance rollers, coreless winding, and modified edges, further expanding its adaptability to various production needs.
