STRATUS PACKAGING: French label maker boosts Swiss market position / Takeover of Koch

Stratus Packaging Europe (Viriat / France; www.stratuspackaging.com) said it acquired Swiss label manufacturer Koch (St. Gallen; www.koch-etiketten.ch) in mid-December 2021. Financial details were not disclosed.

Founded in 1928 and previously family-owned, Koch operates flexographic and digital printing facilities. Current MD Thomas Borter is to manage the St. Gallen production facility as Stratus CEO for Switzerland.

The Stratus Group, which produces self-adhesive labels, sleeves and in-mould labels using flexographic and digital printing, strengthens its market position in Switzerland with the takeover. According to information from the French company, the aim is also to expand the flexible packaging segment, but no further details were provided. With the acquisition, the group, founded by CEO Isidore Leiser and with seven production sites in France, is set to grow to around 350 employees and a turnover of more than EUR 60m.
