SINGAPORE: Borouge opens Singapore warehouse to cater to Southeast Asian demand
The new warehouse, which has a maximum total storage capacity of 120,000 tons, "is designed to cater for the massive volume increase coming on stream from the new Borouge 3 plants and to provide the best in-class service for our customers" in the region, said Borouge Chief Executive Abdulaziz Alhajri.
Borouge has 2-million t/y of production capacity in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and is currently expanding its industrial complex to increase its total production capacity to 4.5-million t/y. The expanded capacity is expected to be completely on stream by the end of this year.
Together with its parent company Borealis, Borouge will reach a combined capacity of 8-million t/y of polyolefins, making the company "one of the top ten players in its field worldwide," Borouge noted.
Katoen Natie has been appointed the logistics service provider for the new warehouse.
