On the night of 7 January 2022, Perlen Packaging (Perlen / Switzerland;
www.perlenpackaging.com) experienced a cyber attack on the IT systems of its parent company, Chemie + Papier Holding (CPH, Switzerland / Perlen;
www.cph.ch). As a precautionary measure, the blister-film manufacturer shut down production at its Swiss and German sites, Perlen and Mülheim.
Now, the Swiss company has announced the restart of its blister film production, as of 12 January 2022. The other production areas including paper activities are also expected to restart by 13 January, at the latest. Together with external IT specialists, the CPH Group checked all systems worldwide and restored them via backup copies. The management around CEO Peter Schildknecht assumes that the incident will not have a material impact on 2022 business results.
The German plant in Mülheim is home to PVC processing, and the PVdC coating activities are located at the Perlen headquarters in Switzerland.
