KraussMaffei (Munich) chose to a make a small impression at Fakuma in Friedrichshafen, Germany, this week. At its stand, the company is featuring its CX small machine series with clamping forces ranging from 350 to 1600 kN, highlighting a number of innovations that were a direct result of asking customers what they wanted in their molding equipment, said Hans Ulrich Golz, President of the company's Injection Molding Machine group, at a press conference today.
"We were able to implement all of our customer requirements," said Golz, namely a 10% reduction in energy consumption, 30% reduction in decibel count, a 20% reduction in oil usage, and a 15% increase in speed. Combined with a 25% improvement in efficiency and faster setup times, "that's 100% added value for our customers," said Golz. I'm not sure the numbers really add up, but it does make for a cute value proposition.
