Elastron showcases new TPE solutions for automotive applications at NPE2015
Floor mats applications [image_0_right]The Elastron Floor Mats series are four special grades for automotive floor mats in hardnesses from 63 to 79 Shore A. The grades are available in black and natural colour and meet OEM specifications with low odour and low fogging properties. They have high flow characteristics and short cycle times for easy processing. Elastron says that the products have good scratch and abrasion resistance and comply with the flammability requirements of OEMs and suppliers. They have GM and VW approvals. The grades are said to show very good heat resistance, compression set value and lower density than traditional materials for this application such as NBR/PVC, CR, and EPDM. Besides, these products were approved by GM according to GMW 15813 under hood specification. Currently, these products are being used by significant Tier 1 and Tier 2 companies after their long confirmation process, says the company. Products are suitable for injection, extrusion and blow molding process and are available in three different Shore hardnesses (90 A, 40 D, 51 D).[image_2]Glass encapsulation applications Elastron also supplies TPE solutions for glass encapsulation. With the V250 and G250 glass encapsulation series there are TPVs as well as SEBS-based materials available that meet OEM and supplier requirements. The grades are said to provide improved design options and ease of processablity to the customers. Long term UV and ozone resistance, and good surface quality of the end product are other key characteristics. Hardness range is from 58 to 75 Shore A.Elastron Kimya at NPE2015 Stand S22036
