The company, which has already invested about USD 1.15-billion in the first phase of the project, plans to build a new PVC unit with 200,000 ty of capacity and increase ethylene capacity by 60,000 t/y. A schedule for the second phase was not given.
The first phase involved establishing a chemical complex at Port Said to produce 275,000 t/y of caustic soda, 60,000 t/y of ethylene and 200,000 t/y of PVC.
