As soon as one K is over, the next K begins. What this means in practice is that the preparations for K 2019, the leading trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry, already started directly after the last K ended three years ago. We are now entering the intensive phase, however, as the 2019 trade fair year gets going.
Not only the trade fair exhibitors and visitors are looking forward to the opening of K; so is the K team at Messe Düsseldorf, which has spent and will be spending many months doing everything in its power to prepare the biggest highlight of the plastics and rubber industry.
The same is true of the editorial staff of k-online.de, which will once again be on the lookout for interesting and fascinating stories from the polymer world in K-Year 2019. Past experience has shown that stories are regularly found that are particularly appealing.
Would you, for example, have thought that the Christmas trees used to decorate houses here in Germany and elsewhere, which were put out everywhere last week to be collected by municipal waste disposal companies, can be used not only to generate energy or to be composted but also to manufacture plastics, even though they are made of wood?
The “Topic of the Month” in February will be reporting about the fact that wood might be able to play an important and sustainable role in the production of polymers in the foreseeable future. It goes without saying that we will be keeping you up to date in other news columns listed at k-online.de as well.
The k-online team wishes you a good start to a successful and happy new K-Year 2019.
