Founded in 1965, UK injection moulding firm Barkley Plastics (Birmingham;
www.barkley.co.uk) is this year celebrating 60 years in business. Having traditionally focused on supplying components to the automotive sector, the group marked its sixth decade by signing a deal to produce controller parts and ambient lighting for a high-end shower manufacturer, and parts for electric vehicle charger manufacturer FastAmps (Shrewsbury, UK;
www.fastamps.com).
In a statement, the firm which created 20,000 plastic baubles for the worlds largest chandelier, first used at the Winter Olympics in Sochi said the latest contract wins, along with its PlasFloor flooring tile range and agreements to supply the likes of Nissan, Toyota and JLR with interior trim and specialist lighting parts, had helped it recover from what it described as a difficult two years.
