Expanded Capabilities to Differentiate Or Development

The company continues to invest in tools and equipment to support customer developments. Recent investments include:

·      NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) Lab

o  At Celanese, we provide comprehensive, one stop NVH solution, including high damping material family, design and simulation expertise and advanced testing capability. to support our customers in all industry, we built up hemianechoic chamber, reverberation chamber with competitive properties and offer vibration, acoustic and durability testing on material and component even system level.

·      New Thermoforming Oven

o  We provide best in class technical support going beyond the standard processing support to optimize the layer ratio and give best recommendations and expertise to customers targeting key fluid management applications.

·      Atomic Force Microscopy with Nano-IR (AFM-IR)

o  AFM-IR mapping combines nanoscale imaging with chemical analysis by detecting infrared-induced thermal expansion at the AFM probe–sample interface. This “nano IR” technique enables spatial resolution down to 10 nm and allows targeted wavenumber mapping guided by conventional FTIR spectra.

Collaboration Across the Value Chain

Celanese partners with companies across the value chain in support of our customers’ projects. Examples of this cooperative spirit will be on display during the K Show at the stands of leading machinery manufacturers.

·      Maillefer (Stand 16/B19), a leader in extrusion machinery, is highlighting its work with Celanese to replace thermoset rubber with Santoprene® TPV in dynamic and semi-dynamic weather seals for the automotive and building industries.

·      Kingsteel (Stand 13/B93), manufacturer of processing machinery for foamed applications, will be highlighting the use of foamable Hytrel® TPC for footwear applications.

·      Arburg (Stand 13/A13) will be injection molding electrical connectors made from Frianyl® PPA in a tool from Phoenix Contact.

Ossberger (Stand 14/A04) will be injection blow molding air spring gaiters made of Santoprene® TPV on its new DSE5-30 machine. The machine, designed for manufacturing large boots and bellows, is being introduced at the K Show.

Trelleborg, a leading automotive tier supplier will partner with Celanese on our booth to introduce a shift from traditional chloroprene rubber (CR) to Hytrel® thermoplastic elastomer (TPC), which enables a complete redesign of the sealing boot.
