THAILAND SK E&C: clinches USD 100 million deal to expand petrochemical plant in Thailand

As SK E&C won the deal jointly with local partner PTT Maintenance and Engineering Co., PTT Global Chemical's subsidiary, it will be responsible for 45% of the construction. SK E&C will take the job of design and purchasing while PTT Maintenance and Engineering is taking charge of construction work. The actual building works will begin this month and will be completed by September 2015.

According to the company, the latest order was a meaningful achievement because it was the first EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) deal after setting up the global plant service division that will focus on jobs related to plant maintenance, technical consulting, and modernization projects.

Kim Chu-je, SK E&C executive at the global plant service division, said, "After this project, we expect to win a series of similar large-scale deals in Southeast Asia."
