Solar panels heating up demand for DuPont's Tedlar-brand film


Increased demand from the solar energy market has led DuPont Co. to start production on a second line making fluoropolymer resins in Fayetteville, N.C.

Polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) resin made on the new line will be used in production of DuPont’s Tedlar-brand PVF film, officials with Wilmington, Del.-based DuPont said in an Aug. 25 news release. Tedlar has been in increased demand as a component of photovoltaic backsheets, which provide long-term durability and performance for solar modules, officials added.
