Drop-in-materials are in high demand; these are materials with the same characteristics as their petroleum-based counterparts. They only differ in the utilized raw materials. Predominantly, the plastics in question are biobased PE or PP:
• Pantene Pro V bottle: produced from biobased PE. The raw material source is sugar cane.
• Food containers from PLA (biobased and in this case industrially compostable according to EN 13432). Utility value: rotten goods can be disposed of with the packaging.
