All the Melt Pressure Transducers from Gneuss Kunststofftechnik GmbH are now supplied without mercury. With this change to the non toxic medium NTXTM Gneuss, from Bad Oeynhausen, Germany sets new standards with regard to safety and environmentally friendly products whilst at the same time providing highly accurate measurements.

The Gneuss Melt Pressure transducers are characterised not only by their high measurement accuracy and non toxic medium. They operate equally well compared with conventional sensors and in most cases are in fact more accurate than conventional sensors, with better temperature behaviour. The NTXTM Melt Pressure sensors can be used without any restrictions on high temperature applications and have an extremely low temperature drift. The mercury free sensors of course have the same advantages as all the Gneuss Measurement Technology products, such as special surface treatment for better abrasion resistance and protection against products with high adhesion properties. They are extremely reliable thanks to their latest diaphragm technology and are even available with a heated diaphragm (patented) and offer excellent value for money. These sensors are available in passive or active (with integrated amplifier) designs and versions are available for explosion proof environments and HART protocol.

The second new development which Gneuss will be presenting in Düsseldorf is the Extrusion Pressure Monitoring System (EPM) which ensures a high safety level for machine operators and the machines themselves. With the EPM system, Gneuss is the first company to react to the new European machine guidelines (EN 1114) which came into force at the beginning of this year and which specify higher standards with regard to the safety pressure overload cut out on extruders.
