Names in the news: Husky, EcoLogic, and Pallmann


Su Taylor is the new VP human resources and organizational development for injection molding machine, tooling, and hot runner supplier Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd. (Bolton, ON). Taylor, who also becomes a member of Husky's executive team, replaces Jim Reid, who had held the position since 2008 but has decided to pursue opportunities outside the company, according to Husky. Taylor joined Husky in 2009, and she has more than 19 years of experience in senior human resources leadership roles at companies such as Nortel and Xerox. Immediately prior to joining Husky, Taylor was a principal at human resources consulting company Mercer.

EcoLogic President Jim Rooney has been appointed to the board of directors of the Plastics Environmental Council (PEC), a consortium of businesses, independent scientists, engineers, landfill and compost operators, and environmental groups that has assembled to help organizations in "choosing responsible solutions for plastics that offer biodegradability and responsible options at the end of use." EcoLogic develops and manufactures the Eco-One line of additives that promote biodegradation of plastic products in biologically active landfills. The company describes Eco-One as a drop in solution added to the resin at the feedthroat and requiring no adjustment to equipment. In addition, it says the additive has no impact the performance properties of the final product. EcoLogic is also a member of The Flexible Packaging Assn., National Recyclers Coalition (NRC), and a Project Network Member of EPA's Global Methane Initiative....
