Names in the News: Plastics Pioneers, Davis-Standard and Conair


In recent personnel news, the Plastics Pioneers Association elected a new president, one of Davis-Standards' stalwarts was recognized by TAPPI, and Conair hired an industry veteran and promoted one of its own longtime employees.

The Plastics Pioneers Association has elected Dan Maguire as its president through spring 2013. The Association is limited to 250 members who have made significant contributions for 25 years or longer to the plastic industry. As co-founder of General Polymers, Maguire was a pioneer in resin distribution. McGuire was inducted into the Plastics Pioneers in 1991.

Stefan Hershfield, chairman of Lancer Dispersions Inc. (Akron, OH) was elected the Association's vice president. The Association works to promote and support industry-wide educational programs, including scholarships, and works on historical preservation....
