NIGERIA: Gulf of Guinea Methanol appoints IHS to study methanol project

The plant, requiring an investment of about USD 1.1-billion, is expected to have the capacity to produce 5,000 t/d of methanol, using technology licensed by Haldor Topsoe. It will be located in the proposed Gas Industrial Park at Ogidigben in Delta State, which is an initiative by the government to house the country's gas-based industries.

GGOEX Director Nze Joe Ibeh noted that financers of the project are in discussions with the Nigerian government regarding the allocation and supply of natural gas, key requirements for financial closure of the project.
