With faster cycle time still the name of the game, Mold-Masters Ltd. (booth #4463) has formalized an agreement with Ritemp Technologies’ sole American agent, YGRENE Technologies Inc., for exclusive global use of their patented evaporative cooling technology in hot runner applications. A 4-cavity mold manufactured by StackTeck (Brampton, ON), will run in the Sumitomo-Demag booth (#2103), making a 60-mm spout at a 7.2-second cycle, a 39% improvement over a conventionally cooled mold. The required cooling to the entire mold will be 18 GPM, a 55% improvement over a conventionally cooled mold. The cell will show, for the first time, both a Ritemp hot-half and Ritemp cold half.
“Ritemp patented technology intrigued us because it had the potential to provide faster cycle times, with less energy, drastically reduced water usage and completely uniform cooling,” said Bruce Catoen, VP of Business and Product Development at Mold-Masters. “Joint developmental efforts over the last year have proven to us that these benefits are viable, and we are now prepared to offer Ritemp hot runners commercially.”
