Mitsubishi Rayon beefs up position in auto CFRP field


Mitsubishi Rayon (MRC; Tokyo) will acquire a 51% in Wethje Holding GmbH (Hengersberg, Germany ), a German company engaged in manufacturing of carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) parts for automobile applications.

MRC is aiming to beef up sales of its carbon fiber products in Europe through the acquisition. It will retain current owner Cross Industries AG (Wels, Austria) as a minority shareholder in the long term. Cross is an industrial holding group, strategically and operatively focusing on the automotive sector.
