Milacron makes another investment in the future of American manufacturing

Milacron LLC, a global supplier of plastics processing technologies and industrial fluids, has recently expanded its Education Partnership program in order to help colleges and universities prepare the workforce for the future of plastics.

In July 2014, Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) began a new short-term intensive training program to support its local business community. The program includes two four-week sessions, designed to train inexperienced workers in injection molding. And advanced composites technician training program at the college has also been very successful for about five years.

"We're very excited about our new plastics lab, including the new Magna T Servo machine from Milacron, which allows our students to train on top-of-the-line equipment and helps to create a more prepared local workforce," said Alan Done, program manager for advanced composites & plastics injection technician training at SLCC. "In addition to training new hires for local businesses, we are also training military veterans involved in vocational rehabilitation following their military service, helping them transition back into the civilian workforce with a reasonable starting wage."
