MIDDLE EAST: Equate notes 250 % increase in exports of Middle East petrochemicals since 1999

Although Middle East exporters face the challenge of crowded ports and poor infrastructure, petrochemical exports from the region exceeded 29-million tons in 2010, compared to exports of 10-million tons in 1999.

Equate alone reported exports of over 2-million tons of liquid and solid products worth more than $2-billion during 2010.  These exports, destined for customers in the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe, involved more than 10 companies involved in specialized freight.
