Lati: Flame retardant bioplastics introduced

Lati Industria Thermoplastici (Vedano Olona / Italy; www.lati.com) has introduced the “Latigea” family of bioresin-based compounds. The resins, which include corn-starch derived PLA, are being used in the development of a range of environmentally friendly injection mouldable thermoplastics with a range of reinforcement and blending alternatives.

The family includes the “Latigea” B01-V0HF flame retardant grade, which is claimed to be fully RoHS compliant, halogen, red phosphorous, antimony and zinc free and is produced only using sustainable PLA. The material, which can be moulded using standard tools, is naturally white, but is available in a range of colours.
