Japanese compounder sets up Méxican base

Targeting growing auto production, Japanese compounder Dainichiseika Color & Chemicals Mfg. Co. (DNS) plans to start production of compounds at a 10,000-tonnes/yr facility in the Méxican State of Guanajuato in January 2015. Trading company Mitsubishi Corp. will partner DNS in the joint venture with a 35% stake.

Automobile production in México was slightly in excess of 3 million units (passenger and commercial) in 2012, making the country the eighth largest car manufacturing country in the world. In the first six months of 2013, production reached 1,546,243 units, representing year-on-year growth of 4.4%.
