Innovative Performance Additives for Plastics – GENIOPLAST® Pellets

When it comes to delivering innovations and setting trends in the plastics industry, performance additives are indispensible. GENIOPLAST® Pellets are the ideal solution for continuous compounding and masterbatch production, because by saving time, material and costs, they yield a better end product: the small cylindrical silicone-based pellets vastly improve processing and enhance important product features of thermoplastic compounds. GENIOPLAST® Pellet S can be used for general molding purposes. In addition, WACKER supplies GENIOPLAST® Pellet P Plus for food-contact applications.

GENIOPLAST® innovative performance additives reduce melt viscosity and improve the flow characteristics of thermoplastic compounds. By lowering extruder torque and die pressure, they save energy or produce significantly more compound for the same amount of energy input. GENIOPLAST® Pellet S reduces undesirable die drool and other extruder and other extruder deposits, particularly in compounds containing mineral fillers. This reduces downtime and cleaning time

while boosting productivity. Moreover, this special material does not negatively affect the mechanical properties of the compounds and in fact often enhances them.

Parts molded with compounds containing GENIOPLAST® Pellet S have better surface quality. They have a lower coefficient of friction and a smoother surface, as a result of which antifriction properties as well as scratch and abrasion resistance are all enhanced.

The unique combination of high-viscosity silicone gum and a specially modified silica confers optimum efficiency and all-round compatibility with thermoplastics. GENIOPLAST® Pellet S provides the unique processing benefits and improves surface quality. In contrast to many other additives, GENIOPLAST® Pellet S does not negatively affect physical properties such as tensile and impact strength. In mineral-filled compounds, GENIOPLAST® Pellet S actually enhances impact strength and acts in synergy with flame-retardent fillers.

Typical applications are found in wires and cables, automotive interiors, industrial machines, housings and drive parts, color concentrates and mineral-filled compounds, footwear, and food-compliance applications, such as rigid and flexible packaging, food processing equipment and disposables.
