Diversified Plastics Inc. announced the completion of its latest facility expansion, a 10,000-sq-ft addition to its cleanroom. This brings the company’s total to approximately 53,000 sq ft. The Company added cleanroom molding in 2009 to serve medical customers. According to Annette Lund, VP of the employee-owned company, in an interview at MD&M last week, the medical molding business has grown exponentially over the past four years, necessitating the expansion. Medical molding and filtration products now represent about 20% of Diversified’s business.
“With our business growing, specifically in medical device components, this expansion is key to meeting customer demand,” said Lund, who is celebrating 32 years with Diversified Plastics this week. “This expansion gives us room for newly purchased injection molding equipment, more room for our assembly operations, and additional space for quality control, tooling and our customers’ Kanban inventory.”
