Hyundai Mobis to build lighting plant in Czech Republic


Korean Tier I auto lighting system supplier Hyundai Mobis (Seoul) plans to construct a plant in the Czech Republic to manufacture car lamps for the local operations of group companies Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors. The 120 billion won ($117 million) plant will be the company's second in the country when it opens for operations in 2017 near the city of Ostrava.

The factory will have the capacity to turn out head and rear lamps for 750,000 vehicles a year made primarily at Hyundai's local plant and Kia's plant in neighboring Slovakia.
