European associations PlasticsEurope, EuPC, Euromap and co will be joined by Eurocolour (Frankfurt / Germany; www.eurocolour.org
), which was founded by over 27 companies and associations from across Europe among these are BASF, Clariant, Lanxess and Evonik. The umbrella organisation is based in Frankfurt in the building of Germanys association for mineral pigments and colours industry, Verband der Mineralfarbenindustrie (www.vdmi.de
). Stefan Sütterlin, from BASF Colors and Effects, is president of the organisation, with Evonik Resource Efficiencys Heinz Zoch as vice president.
With this step, we are strengthening the interest representation at the European level. This is of central importance in view of the rules and regulations in Europe and given the international activities of our industry, says Sütterlin. The organisations main objectives are the implementation of REACH, Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) regulation for titanium dioxide as well as food contact legislation for plastics, colours and coatings. Eurocolour will be in contact with legislators and support its members in implementing the legal requirements for these areas.
