Solvay Specialty Polymers (stand 11.2A4) is showcasing a variety of advanced engineering plastics at Chinaplas 2015 in Guangzhou to address the requirements of a variety of industries such as automotive, appliances and water treatment. The company is also stepping up production operations in China to better support the local processing sector.
Solvay plans to start up a Tecnoflon FKM fluoroelastomer production plant in Changshu by the second half of 2015. It also signed a MoU with Shanghai 3F for PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) production in Changshu. “The site will become an important production base to support growth in China,” says Luke C. Du, General Manager of Greater China & Southeast Asia, and Senior Vice President at Solvay Specialty Chemicals. “And capacity of FKM will be sufficient to meet the demands of the local market,” says Du.
