CHINA: Technip awarded technology contract for CNOOC's Huizhou ethylene plant

Key components of the technology for this project include Technip's Ultra Selective Conversion furnace and Advanced Recovery System technologies.

Technip said the contract also covers technical support during detailed engineering, pre-commissioning and start-up. Mechanical completion is expected by mid-2015.

The plant is being built as part of phase two of an integrated refinery and ethylene project. Ethylene production will feed other downstream units in the complex, including a 300,000-t/y cumene plant, for which CNOOC recently selected Badger's technology.
