BASF adds PA, PBT compounding capacity in Korea


BASF (Ludwigshafen, Germany) is expanding its footprint in the fast-growing Asian region through addition of capacity for polyamide (PA) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) at its site in Ansan, Korea. The expansion from the current 17,000 metric tons to 30,000 metric tons annual production capacity will be completed by the end of 2011. The plant produces Ultramid PA and Ultradur PBT) compounds.
