All-olefin instrument panel wins SPE grand award


An all-olefin full instrument panel using contour stitching won the grand award in the Society of Plastics Engineer's annual automotive innovation awards competition. Winners were announced last night at a banquet in Livonia, MI.

"The purpose of this technology is to provide a cut-and-sew replacement product that is lower cost, lower weight, recyclable and provides OEMs with considerable design freedom," says Edward Wenzel, research engineer at Inteva Products (Troy, MI).
